If you don’t pay your rent on a regular basis then you could get into what is called rent arrears. If this happens to you, it’s important that you contact your landlord/agent straight away to discuss a repayment plan. You might, if you are in financial dire straits, be due some welfare benefits to help with the cost of your rent.

If you can’t pay your rent, plenty of help is at hand. There are organisations who can advise you on meeting your priority debts, rent being one of them. Check the web for local advice bureaux and city council offices.

So many parents today are really struggling with their children constantly begging for more things. It seems that no matter what the parents give the children always want more. How can you help your child to understand that they really don’t need everything they see?

The attitude of wanting everything generally starts very early in a child’s development. When they are toddlers they begin to beg and maybe even pitch a fit for toys, food, whatever catches their eye. If you give in to that behavior when they are very young you will have a harder time breaking them of that in the future. You are basically creating a pattern of behavior.

Hi, everyone,

i would like to offer some ideas on how the current economic climate may be weathered. In the face of falling stock prices, one is left with very little choice but to hold and pray. There may be a long wait for the prices to climb back to pre- crash levels, but I think every long term investor would have factored such a possibility occuring.

If there is a need for some liquidity, some of current holdings may still be sold, but definitely not for incidental expenses. Any sale of stock should be for the purpose of investment in more viable instruments like bonds or forex or real estate. These markets have not lost all their shine like stocks have.

Hi, everyone

Quite sorry for the long absense from posting. It was due to some family issues that needed attending to. Intend to post at least thrice a week. Quite glad for the comments now coming in . Makes me glad to be contributing to reading pleasure of all.

Almost everyone is now affected in one way or the other by the current economic downturn in the global economy. All the way through Africa, budgets have had to be trimed down and populace told to firm their belts.

One of my clients asked me how I keep my positive outlook when there are so many negative people everywhere.

Just as I use sun block lotion in the summer to protect my precious skin from harmful UV rays, I use tools to protect my precious energy from negative vibes from others.

Because I love summer, I spend a lot of time in the sun. My regular daily routine of protecting my skin allows me to move around at will, feeling safe and warm

Confidence is believing in yourself. Confidence is what everyone likes about you, even your competitors. Competition instills quality and ingenuity. Believing in yourself is what makes that project or focus succeed, even when the odds are against us. The tried and true “The Secret” is about confidence in ourselves. Telling ourselves every day that we have reached our goal (even when we are a long way off ) instills the focus for us to work for what is necessary to achieve our ideas or goals. We develop confidence in ourselves.

Only if you know what you are saving and investing for can you choose the best products to help you realise your goals. Otherwise, you’re likely to end up with completely unsuitable personal finance products.

Some of the financial goals you have may include clearing your debts, buying a house, starting a pension or helping out your children.

Developing a positive self esteem is ever so critical in this day and age of discouraging events and natural disasters. Read on to see how you can win in an atmosphere of losses….

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. There is a universal law that you become on the outward what you picture on the inward. Also your apparent success in life is due to the sum total of your perceptions about yourself. It is difficult to keep a man poor who thinks of himself as being potentially rich. Loss of job, temporary family setbacks and other issues cannot keep a man poor who dreams of greatness.

There are many approaches to keeping your personal budget under control. This article will describe a few of the more popular strategies about budgeting as well as some you may have not heard of.

1. The first, and probably most important budgeting strategy, is to pay yourself first. Put aside at least 2% of your annual income to cover unexpected expenses. When you have to dip into this fund, replenish it. You can save more if you want, but you can put excess savings into longer term investments (with a higher yield) that you don’t need instant access to in case of a budget-threatening expense.

Christian debt relief may not be a term that you are used to hearing, or perhaps you have heard it before. The difference between debt relief and Christian debt relief is simply that there is a spiritual quality involved, a principle that says you can’t be spiritually free if you are worrying and frustrated about money problems all the time and not devoting your mind and soul to God.

The Christian way of life means living within your means and not being excessive, especially when you can’t afford it. Freeing yourself of your financial burden will also cause you to grow closer to God and become much happier with your life in general.
